UNOC Nice 2025: Haliotis 2, a true technological showcase for French innovation in sustainable and responsible wastewater treatment on an international scale.

4 September 2025

From June 9 to 13, the third United Nations Conference on Oceans (UNOC3) was held in Nice, jointly organized by France and Costa Rica. In addition to the conferences and discussions taking place in the city’s port, a public space was organized in the Exhibition Center, renamed “La Baleine” for the occasion.

Haliotis 2 was presented at the “La Grande Bleue” Pavilion of the Région Sud and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area, and the project was also mentioned as an example on numerous occasions during speeches and expert contributions at various round tables and other events held alongside the discussions taking place in the port.

While the project was discussed throughout the city, Haliotis2 also welcomed various delegations interested in this large-scale project with innovative solutions that could address the specific needs and challenges shared by these countries with the Nice region.

Delegations from countries as diverse as South Africa, Quebec, Panama, and the Comoros were able to discover the solutions developed on Haliotis2 to help the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area achieve the objectives of its Territorial Climate Air Energy Plan while further protecting the Mediterranean and preserving water resources for its populations.
