European Heritage Days – A resounding success for Haliotis2’s first participation in this major event!
24 September 2024
On Saturday September 21, over 120 people visited the Maison de l’Eau and the wastewater treatment plant for the European Heritage Days. It was a very successful first participation, as the tour slots were fully booked in just two days.
Welcomed by mixed Eau d’Azur / Suez teams, visitors were able to discover a temporary exhibition in the Maison de l’Eau, proposed by the Régie Eau d’Azur in collaboration with the Archives department of the City of Nice, retracing the history of wastewater treatment before being introduced to the plant’s modernization project, on which work is about to begin. Following this introduction and a discussion of the model, visitors were taken on a guided tour of the current wastewater treatment plant, where they were given an insight into how the Metropole treats its effluent.
Many were unaware of what goes on inside these buildings and how wastewater is treated before being discharged into the sea.
This “open house” operation satisfied and convinced all participants, as well as the organizers, who are already planning to repeat the event.
