A “Water House” for the Nice Metropolis’ residents
29 July 2024
Temporarily installed in the former Ferber municipal police station at the beginning of July 2023, ahead of the start of renovation and modernization work at Haliotis, in order to inform Metropolitans and answer their questions throughout the period of preparation of the Building Permit and Environmental Authorizations, the Maison du Projet is reinventing itself as the Maison de l’Eau on the occasion of its inauguration.
This new positioning aims to offer and inform the public about the entire water cycle and its management by Régie Eau d’Azur in the metropolitan area.
The opening ceremony took place on Wednesday, June 19, and was orchestrated by Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Metropole and President of the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, accompanied by Gaël Nofri and Vincent Ponzetto, respectively Deputy Mayor, Delegate for Parking, Traffic and Urban Logistics, and Managing Director of Eau d’Azur. Gaël Nofri and Vincent Ponzetto, respectively Deputy Mayor, responsible for parking, traffic and urban logistics, and Managing Director of Eau d’Azur. Also present for the occasion were representatives of SUEZ, leader of the consortium, and of its partners, Razel Bec, Vinci Construction – Triverio, Fayat Energie Service, Artelia and BG-WSP.
Located directly on the Promenade des Anglais on the outskirts of the Haliotis2 site, it offers an educational trail to present the actions undertaken to preserve water resources as part of the project, as well as a large scale model that gives local residents the opportunity to project themselves and be reassured as to the architectural and landscape integration of this large-scale project into its urban and coastal ecosystem.
Virtual tour experiences will soon be available for an even more immersive discovery of the project.
