R\u00e9gie Eau d’Azur, created in 2013 as a financially autonomous EPIC (Etablissement Public Industriel et Commercial), manages drinking water within the Nice C\u00f4te d’Azur metropolitan area.
It is the successor to more than 150 years of concession contracts for public water services in Nice.
Today, it provides the public drinking water service in the 51 communes of the metropolitan area, from the coast to the peaks of the Mercantour. It also supplies treated water to a number of communes in the east of the department, as well as to the Principality of Monaco.
The R\u00e9gie Eau d’Azur was built up in several stages, as the various public service delegations came to an end, integrating the communes as they went along, from 2014 to 2020.
Water conveyance, treatment, production and distribution are among the various tasks carried out by R\u00e9gie Eau d’Azur.
